Hello, all.
I hope you are keeping dry... The October meeting suffered from rain woes, but Betty Klasel was there with pastels out and bells on. Those of us who were able to brave the rain and avoid the puddles thoroughly enjoyed her demo. We'll have to ask her back sometime when the weather is not so wet, because she does a great job.
My husband, Red Bernal, had scans done at M. D. Anderson October 17, and is cancer free. We are so grateful to all who kept us in their thoughts and prayers, and ask that you keep on remembering us to have good scans in the future. He is eating better and his weight has stabilized, so things are improving.
We have our show and competition coming up November 10. Get those beautiful works of art framed and ready to go. Sally and 'Sine do such a wonderful job for us. Please get up early on the morning of the show and help them set up the panels and hang the art. Don't forget - you must be pre-registered by NOVEMBER 5!!
If you know someone who does art or loves art, ask them to join the Kingwood Art Society. Send them to our web page for information: www.kingwoodartsociety.com

In order to participate in this Show & Competition, you'll need to apply using our registration form.
You can print the registration form. |
A few things to remember:
- Artists MUST pre-register by November 5, 2007. Remember, you can mail these forms to me by Snail Mail or by e-mail. My address is josalsal@earthlink.net. If really pushed for time, you may register in advance by phone and pay at check-in-time but the sooner the better as this allows Sine and me time to organize the show. We really appreciate your help.
- All work must be original. No sawtooth or “hole” clip hangers are allowed. If any piece is larger than 40X40, special arrangements must be made for display and a maximum of two oversized pieces are allowed
- Ten entries are allowed per artist and ALL ART MUST HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WITHIN THE LAST 24 MONTHS.
- Check our 20072008 yearbook for KAS and LSAG rules.
- Tommy Humphrey will be our judge. He has judged our show in the past and did a wonderful job. His critiques are interesting and thorough. He is known for his scratchboard medium using black, white and watercolors using stipple or pointillism. His interest is the outdoors and wildlife which led him to paint wildlife. Mr. Humphrey also paints on clayboard which allows him to paint with other medium such as acrylics. He has an A.B.S. degree in commercial art and his work has been featured in many newspapers and magazines. Tommy is very proud of being a finalist in the Federal Duck Stamp competitions.
